Become a More Effective Advocate by Elevating the Stories You Tell!

Human beings are uniquely wired to share information through stories. A good story is powerful - it compels us to listen, empathize, understand, and act. As an active member of the League of Women Voters of Orange County, we bet you hold a treasure trove of stories waiting to be told! These stories can make you a better advocate for civic engagement and voting.

Join us for Story Telling Training with Alice Fairfax. The training is a two- part series: a two-hour interactive in person workshop that will equip you with the tools and confidence to give voice to your story and a one-hour zoom follow up workshop where you can get further feedback on polishing your story.

Learn about the story formula, with the opportunity to apply the elements to your unique narrative about the League.

About Alice
An improvisational storyteller at Walt Disney World for 21 years, including being “friends” with one iconic character (hint: she owns a magic wand and turns pumpkins into vehicles) Fairfax offers transformational tools that help you Tell Your Story. She holds a certificate in Creativity & Innovation from the Walt Disney Company and Harvard Business School Publishing and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Rollins College.

President Tiffany Hughes sent an email with a link to the important documents needed for our Annual Meeting.  If you missed it, here it is again:

Please open, save, print, and study each document so you will be prepared. This should make our meeting progress more smoothly and quickly. This package is also posted on the LWVOC.org website:

As the saying goes, "Democracy dies in darkness." Register EARLY for this thought provoking discussion.
Florida’s Sunshine Law on open records and meetings is coming under increasing attack from exemptions and from state and local governments that refuse to comply with requests in a timely manner.
The 1967 law once was the envy of the nation. Floridians believe that a transparent government is also an accountable government. Yet, more than 1,000 exemptions to the law have been made by different state Legislatures and signed into law by Florida governors.
