VOLUNTEER HAPPENINGS
Voter Services volunteers helped celebrate Valencia College Winter Park "spirit" at their campus Puma Day event on 10/18. There was lot of student interest and enthusiasm about getting ready to vote in 2024!  Shown below left, excited participant and below right (L-R): volunteers Jillian Bello and Mary Montanus.  We have an opportunity to join the fun this weekend!  Click for OCT 28 opportunity:

Marilyn Baldwin and Virginia Meany, co-chairs of the DEIA Committee, welcomed League members to a TableTalk conversation about how we can continue to build a multicultural, multigenerational and fully accessible League. The discussion was honest, thoughtful and purposeful. We identified what can get in our way, like hidden biases or costs and explored possible solutions like training and including welcoming language in all materials. We agreed to continue our discussion as we develop a plan. It was a worthwhile afternoon filled with good ideas, good intentions and good humor. Count on hearing more from us!
Our Team from left to right: front row: Sadie Holzmeyer, Marilyn Baldwin, Joan Erwin, Virginia Meany. Back row: Jane Hursh, Melinda Wright, Lee Rambeau Kemp, Charlie Behrens, Kathie Schmitz, Rebekah Richey
We also give special thanks to Mira Tanner and Quakers of Orlando who generously hosted us in a lovely meeting room.

At our recent LWVOC League Showcase, we recognized "Unsung Heroes" who were nominated by fellow members.

We'd also like to honor LWVOC All-Stars who collectively logged more than 350 volunteer hours at public events during the period from 6/22-6/23.  These volunteers have received a "Volunteers are Stars" pin and certificate.
