Subject: LWVOC Newsletter & Events for Members
From: Lisa K Adkins

Our biggest event of the year for members, the Annual Meeting 2023  takes place on APR 20, 6PM.  We're changing things up and moving to a new location, Mead Botanical Garden-Azalea Lodge (garden map) plus it's being catered by Dubsdread Catering.  You won't want to miss this spectacular setting with outdoor patio, ample free parking, delicious food and wine bar, the presentation of our new Board of Directors and 2023-24 Program, and awards and recognition of the year's League Leaders. Click to hear a special message from Barbara Lanning.

Have you thought about that one hour of service that we discussed at our recent showcase? (By the way, it was Co-President Barbara Lanning who originally urged members to commit to at least ONE HOUR of service to the LWVOC-oops for that error last week.)  As we near 700 members, that's a lot of service benefiting our community.  Take some time to explore our website: LWVOC.org and our Volunteering Opportunities, many of which are open to the public as well.

Your financial support enables us to increase our efforts to empower voters and defend democracy, strengthen our volunteer and social media presence in the community as a trusted source of information, and to make plans for additional efforts to educate and inform Orange County voters in our new fiscal year.

Thanks to supporters like you, LWVOC is poised to embrace this moment and our future as we meet the challenges ahead. We hope you will spread the word to other friends as we reach out during the 2023-2024 fiscal year.  Their charitable gifts – large or small, one time or monthly, checks or QCDs – make a difference.

LWVFL has endorsed the Right to Clean Water! In support of establishing our basic right to clean and healthy water, our League has committed to helping get this citizen initiative on the 2024 ballot. The goal is to collect 90,000 signed petitions in Orange County.
Please visit our Volunteer Page and make a plan to spend some time outside this weekend or later this month collecting signatures. Petitions, clipboards & literature will be provided for this popular cause at event sites.
