Voter Registration Volunteers Needed!

Attention, members! The Voter Services team has great news for those of you who want to be in the middle of the action.
We have an exciting volunteering opportunity starting next week. We are partnering with Orange County Public Schools and the Supervisor of Elections Office to attend Senior Checkout Day in OCPS high schools. Our job is to register seniors to vote who are not already registered. We will have a table set up and talk to students individually, help them with registration, provide a stamped, addressed envelope, and the students will deposit the letter in a bin the school provides, with the registrations to be mailed.
If the Supervisor’s Office has someone present, they will take possession of the form. We will have a special tote bag with our materials rather than the toolkit, so it should be easy to transport. All volunteers must have taken and passed the LWVFL test to register voters. Details HERE.
Each day we will have two shifts, each shift with two volunteers, except on the days the Supervisor’s office can send someone, when we will only need one volunteer. Below are the dates for the schools; times will vary, but you can see details on the Volunteering page. As you can see, these are a LOT of events and we will need LOTS of volunteers. But what a great opportunity to get students registered before they graduate!
