The League of Women Voters of Orange County has a history of more than 80 years in this community as an activist, grassroots organization whose members believe citizens should play a critical role in advocacy.  We do not endorse or oppose political candidates or parties at any level of government.  Our advocacy positions are based on the merits of each issue, after careful study and consensus.
A special note of appreciation to those who contributed to our year-end fundraising drive.

“It’s hard to know what any given person will be memorializing this week…was that chapter of chaos and terror a testament to democracy’s resilience — evidence of its ability to survive a devastating assault from within? Has the country grown stronger in the places that cracked during the onslaught or irreparably weaker?”
-Robin Givhan, Washington Post, Jan 5.

As we look back to that terrible day one year ago, we know that our members' commitment to democracy continues to be as strong and vibrant as ever. Let us all do our part to make those weak places stronger, rededicating ourselves to our mission to defend democracy, educate voters and secure voting rights for all. Onward!
Barbara Lanning & Sue Gilman, LWVOC Co-Presidents
