The League of Women Voters of Orange County has a history of more than 80 years in this community as an activist, grassroots organization whose members believe citizens should play a critical role in advocacy.  We do not endorse or oppose political candidates or parties at any level of government.  Our advocacy positions are based on the merits of each issue, after careful study and consensus.

The LWVOC Board of Directors held a Retreat on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 4 at the Maitland Library. Perhaps to no one’s surprise, it was the first time this entire Board had the opportunity to meet in person, a fact that was enthusiastically greeted by all.  Click to learn more about our Board of Directors and read a summation of their meeting HERE (Photography by Carol Wonsavage)

The entire LWVOC will be meeting JAN 29 for our Annual Program Planning Meeting: Register here: Program Planning Meeting - 1/29/2022
Lifetime LWVOC Members were honored last night at the Holiday 2021 party.  In attendance, shown above l. to r., Rosemary Durocher, Linda Chapin, Jean Siegfried
Unable to attend but honored:  Jeanine Walsh and Susan Simasek
"Tonight we are honoring those stalwart members of our League who have been members for at least half a century.  They have been granted the status of LIFETIME MEMBERS--a special title given to those who have been members for 50 years or more.  Becoming a lifetime member is a singular honor.  Over our League's 82 years, only 13 Orange County Leaguers have become lifetime members."

Curious about why our League continues to need financial support regardless of dues?  Scroll to bottom of newsletter and see how membership dues are allocated between local/state/national League organizations.  With our lack of revenue opportunities due to two years of pandemic stress, we're very appreciative of your monetary support as well as committee involvement.

Turn on AmazonSmile in the Amazon app to generate donations.  Every purchase supports LWVOC and helps us continue to defend democracy.   So SMILE and get shopping!  Click above to get started.
