The League of Women Voters of Orange County has a history of more than 80 years in this community as an activist, grassroots organization whose members believe citizens should play a critical role in advocacy. We do not endorse or oppose political candidates or parties at any level of government. Our advocacy positions are based on the merits of each issue, after careful study and consensus.

There was plenty of fun in the park on Sunday afternoon, October 24, when League families gathered for their fall festival, with games, costumes, picnics, music, giveaways, food trucks, and even a short parade beside LWVOC’s very own Voter Tree in Cypress Grove Park.

Election Day NOV 2, Orange County Election Calendar for Districts 1, 3, and 5. Early voting will be at the Supervisor of Elections Office only at 119 W. Kaley Street, Orlando, FL. If necessary, a run-off election will be held on December 7, 2021. A run-off election would be needed if there are more than two candidates and no candidate receives a majority of the votes. The two top candidates would then face off in a run-off election. Visit the Orange County Supervisor of Elections website to verify your voter registration.

Details and registration: 7PM, Harvard Case Study Opportunity - 11/10/2021

A message from LWVOC Education Committee:
We want to make sure our league members have the opportunity to participate in this Harvard Case Study Community session with Dr. David Moss, who launched this project via Harvard. Now we have 8 high school teachers who have been nominated and consequently attended the Harvard training. These 8 teachers from Orange County schools are now eligible to facilitate our local community sessions. Our league is currently planning our next community session for March 2022 (face to face or zoom TBD). Our goal is to expand the number of community sessions through the spring and summer of 2022. The covid virus certainly stalled all of plans for 2020 and 2021. However we will persevere!

Equal Ground who partners with the League frequently, is looking for a County Manager. Position will be responsible for building a robust volunteer and grassroots organizing operation, engaging in coalition building activities, coordinating with key stakeholders, and managing paid outreach staff within your assigned region. Responsibilities may grow to include managing a team and a paid canvass operation. This position may require frequent travel throughout your assigned county.
