Board of Directors host Retreat for Upcoming Term

The Board of Directors held a Retreat on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 4 at the Maitland Library. Perhaps to no one’s surprise, it was the first time this entire Board had the opportunity to meet in person, a fact that was enthusiasticallygreeted by all.

The participants were broken out into 4 groups that reviewed and discussed the results of the 2021 Member Engagement survey and then each group did their own SWOT Assessment (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) which they presented to the full group for considerationand discussion. There was a great deal of commonality among the responses and all of the work will be compiled into a single document that will be used by the Boardand for our League-wide Annual Program Planning meeting on January29th.

We want to thank Sara Rich, our Nomination Chair as well as Speaker’s Bureau Co-Chair who (in her spare time) runs a fabulous bakery, Sugar House Bake House who supplied some beautiful cupcakes that tasted even better than they look and were a nice reward for a great afternoon of hard work.

While we will share most of the results in January, the group agreed that our democracy is in fragile state and our work in 2022 to assure fair districts and elections is critical to our success as a county, state and country. It will be all hands on deck in the new year and we are counting on each and every one of you to do your part!
