Save the Date, OCT 20, The Voter Tree Planting

Save the date—October 20—Planting LWVOC’s “THE VOTER” Live Oak
Rally round a new live oak to grace Orange County’s beautiful Cypress Grove
Park when we plant the LWVOC’s commemorative tree, to be named “THE VOTER,”
in celebration of our 80th anniversary and our precious right to vote.

Mark your calendar now for 2 p.m., Sunday, October 20, when we dedicate our
tree at the park, 290 Holden Ave., Orlando.

Sponsors include the League’s History Committee, in partnership with Orange
County District 3 Commissioner Mayra Uribe and the Natural Resources Committee.
Don’t miss the music, marching, giveaways, voter registration, cookies, and fun,
bound together with our dedicated call to defend voting rights for all.
Here’s our chance to memorialize those who came before us—women and men
whose hard-won victories gave us today’s voting freedoms and quality of life. We’ll
especially honor LWVOC past presidents.

Live oaks can live for hundreds of years. “THE VOTER” can stand, spreading its
branches with its message of democracy, long beyond the span of our lives. Now is
your chance to set a living beacon that can carry our message forward to your
grandchildren and future generations, heralding that the Warriors for Democracy of
the Orange County League of Women Voters never give up!
