Our next installment of the Wednesday Workshop Series will be on Drafting Effective Legislation.
Legislation is how we manage our government and support the interests of our communities. Citizens have a right to take part in that process. Some of the most favored legislation to pass on the ballot in recent years were citizen-led legislation; Solar One, Medical Marijuana, and Restoration of Rights, to name a few. Want to learn some of the most effective elements of drafting legislation on an issue you care about? Let our community leaders share their expertise. Explore methods and ways to base a persuasive argument. Learn about Direct File. Better understand the terminology applied to the legislative process, and why what you say, and how you say it, are so important. Then take what you've learned and collaborate with others on a legislative outline with feedback from our expert panelists.
