U.S. Rep. Maxwell Frost and Scott Maxwell Take Stage Together Oct. 11
League of Women Voters of Orange County hosts dynamic dialogue between congressman and columnist
ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. XX, 2023) — Expect the unexpected and lots of laughs as U.S. Rep. Maxwell Frost joins the stage with Orlando Sentinel columnist Scott Maxwell on Oct. 11, 2023. Maxwell & Maxwellwill debate politics, community and current events as the League of Women Voters of Orange County (LWVOC) continues its groundbreaking Hot Topics series.
“From Capitol Hill to the Editorial Page: Dialogue Between a Congressman and Columnist” takes place at 11:30 a.m. at the Winter Park Events Center, 1050 W. Morse Blvd.
There is no moderator for this lunch and public affairs forum, just two powerful voices with strong views and microphones … unfiltered. The conversation about current events and community certainly will entertain, but it also will inform and spur the audience to action. With his sharp insight, Orlando Sentinel columnist Scott Maxwell returns to Hot Topics to share thoughts and words with the youngest member of Congress, Maxwell Frost, representing Florida’s 10th District.
Maxwell Alejandro Frost currently serves as representative for Florida’s 10th congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the first member of Generation Z to serve in the U.S. House.
Scott Maxwell is the metro columnist for the Orlando Sentinel. He writes about Central Florida and state politics and whatever else he likes. Scott particularly enjoys giving readers information they won’t get elsewhere and sharing the stories politicians would rather keep secret.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m.; lunch and program begin 11:00 a.m. Hot Topics is streamed on the League’s Facebook Live and is available on the League’s YouTube channel.
