Educational Background: My educational background includes a B.A. degree from the University of Maryland in 1984 (majors in Government and Politics and Economics) and a J.D. degree from the University of Florida law school in 1988. Since then, I have attended various legal continuing education programs approved by the Florida Bar.

Current Occupation: I am a partner with the Firm of Grower, Ketcham, Rutherford, Bronson, Eide & Telan.

Civic Organizations:
I have been involved in various community organizations and activities including the Maitland Code Enforcement Board (2007-2008), the Orange Soil & Water Conservation District (2005-2006), and the Maitland Transportation Advisory Board (1999-2005). I am also active with the Boy Scouts and with my parish, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

How many years have you been practicing law?
I have been practicing law for 20 years. My experience includes both criminal and civil law. My civil litigation experience includes handling both plaintiff and defense work in personal injury and workers' compensation, as well as construction litigation, employment/civil rights cases, social security claims, and subrogation claims.

Which aspect of your legal experience is most relevant to the position you are seeking?
The aspect of my legal experience that is most relevant to seeking election as a Circuit Court Judge is the diversity of my practice. I have handled jury and non-jury trials in misdemeanor, felony, and juvenile cases as well as a wide variety of civil cases.

What management skills will allow you to handle increased case loads?
My work experience as an attorney involves handling case loads with time constraints due to discovery deadlines and trials. Over the past 20 years, I have worked to handle cases efficiently. The skills to handle a judicial case load efficiently include working with attorneys to minimize delays, ruling on motions promptly, entering orders promptly, and reviewing files in advance of hearings to be fully prepared for the following day's docket.
