The League of Women Voters of Orange County believes that when more people vote, we get a stronger, more representative America. To make sure your voice is heard, if you have not done so already, it’s time to use your strongest tool: PLEASE VOTE!

We're dedicated to defending democracy--but we can't do it without your help.  For the month of November, we encourage you to join the #GivingEveryTuesday movement by weekly opportunities to give, volunteer, and make a difference with the LWVOC.  Help us make every Tuesday this month a Giving Tuesday! Find out more.

League Leaders
Past LWVOC Co-President Sue Gilman (shown left in her letter jacket) has been a pioneer for women's rights since her school days at St. Mary's, Notre Dame's girls' school, where she rowed crew.  Notre Dame recently celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Title 9 at a recent game, saluting their female athletes and Sue was in attendance.  She was known as Susan "Brooks" Strassel then and remains our very own League Leader today!  Click here to read more about this special event.
VegFest 2022 brought out our Voter Services Outreach team, providing election information for attendees.  It was a family affair with Virginia Meany and Gina Hall with her grandchildren (Patrick and Lily) setting up the booth, ready to empower voters.
Democracy Defenders are all around us! A chance meeting with Ms. Stella Lewis, President of the Washington Shores Neighborhood Association, (standing in front of the statuaries of Orlando's first black policemen, Richard A. Jones and Belvin Perry Sr.) led Targeted Outreach Team Leader Saudi Ellis to this treasure find. Ms. Lewis accepted a bundle of voter guides to distribute to her church and neighborhood, but she didn't stop there. After church Ms. Lewis went home, changed her clothes, and distributed the remainder at her local Walmart! Thank you Ms. Lewis for ensuring your community is #VoteReady
Pine Hills Community Council Nat'l Night Out at the Boys & Girls Club in Pine Hills
A young man (below right) who reviewed our new “Why your vote matters” flyer identified sensible gun laws as a reason to vote!  Saudi Ellis and Kitty Woodley (below left) staffed the event urging participants to vote.  PHCC President Patricia Rumph and OC Sheriff John Mina join fellow Leaguers Kitty and Saudi in this photo, right.

If communications is your niche, we need you!  Join us for a Zoom committee discussion on 11/10 at 6PM, hosted by Co-Presidents Barbara Lanning and Nicolette Springer.

We need your expertise and experience as we move forward.

Poll Monitor volunteers still needed!

Nonpartisan Election Protection Poll Monitors help make sure every registered voter gets to exercise their rights! As a poll monitor you will be stationed outside of a priority polling location during early voting or election day. This training will equip you to support voters by answering questions, reporting issues you observe at the polling location, and connecting voters to our Florida command center for support if they have been denied the ballot. This training is being offered by the Florida Election Protection Coalition (FLEPC), facilitated by Common Cause Florida or State Voices Florida click HERE for complete information.
