“The 2020 Census is going to be one of the most consequential censuses of our lifetime,” said Beth Lynk, an official with the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. "Every community and every state has a critical choice to make: Go all in on ensuring a fair and accurate census, or miss out on a pot of more than $1.5 trillion a year in federal funding.” (Orlando Sentinel 11/18/19).  According to an article by AP writer Mike Schneider, Florida stands to gain 2 US Representatives, not to mention the millions in federal funds. However, Florida is one of only 5 states thus far declining to establish a state-wide Complete Count Committee after the measure died in the legislature last session.

Hot Topics will explore the myths and facts regarding the Census and what each of us can do individually, and the League collectively, to make sure every BODY is counted in the 2020 enumeration.
