Public Moves up In Expressway Pecking Orderposted by Dan Tracy One reason: During a hearing two months ago about raising tolls, the board of the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority heard almost as many complaints from disgruntled motorists about waiting to speak as they did about higher fees to ride agency roads. "We all remember that vividly," said authority attorney Joe Passiatore. The decision was approved by the board 5-0 today.* Said board member Tanya Juarez: "I think it's good for the public to come forward and voice an opinion before a vote." The only exception to the new rule are vendors seeking business from the authority. They cannot speak to the board while they are awaiting a decision.
