Why are you running for this office, and what qualities and skills do you bring to this position?

I am a four term City Commissioner. I bring 30 years of conservative business management, 9 years of public office experience including 8 years as a City Commissioner and one year on the Planning and Zoning Board. I am running for reelection to maintain community continuity and harmony on the City Commission. I believe all items on the agenda should be explored and debated and the decisions made be honored by the Commission. Winter Garden went through three years of total discord and does not need any more dissention that is necessary.

What are the top 3 priority issues facing your community, and what actions would you take to address them if elected to office?

The major issue facing Winter Garden will be operation of a municipal government on 20% less tax revenue than available in previous years. To accomplish this, one must understand that all employees must be maintained to provide the goods and services currently available. Austerity is the key word and must be maintained to keep all goods and services provided at a high level. 2. The second major issue is continued downtown redevelopment. The CRA that was begun a few years ago is still providing tax dollars to create a healthy, beautiful downtown area. More business must be attracted to keep the downtown healthy and those business must be patronized to maintain economic stability. 3. Expand and maintain a healthy Recreation Department.
